Best video game DLC’s of 2021

Over the years, DLC has been used to bring in constant content and new features for fans, and plenty of DLC in 2021 left a lasting impression.

Video games are still one of the most popular entertainment mediums, but the industry is facing a lot of challenges and changing trends. Let’s take a look at some of the best video game DLCs released this year to understand why people love them so much.

DLC that can be downloaded has provided gamers the opportunity to play new features and features in numerous games. Of the many DLC options available 2021 has witnessed many groundbreaking and thrilling new DLC releases that have either introduced something different into the game or cross into other games.

As the popularity of gaming continues to expand as has DLC. The amount of content available for download has increased to offer a complete update that keeps games running with new features for a long time after their debut in addition to being used to bring back beloved features, such as Super Smash Bros. Ultimate which added an Stage Building feature in the form of a patch. In comparison to all available DLC for 2021 certain features were the most notable in terms of the value they brought to players and they’re not listed in any specific order.

Far Cry 6 – Vaas: Insanity

Since the players got to meet Vaas during Far Cry 3 Many fans wanted more from the character who is a fan favorite. A few wanted to get to know Vaas’s perspective better, while others wanted to play Vaas in a particular shape or form. In Far Cry 6 the desire of those who wanted to understand him has been fulfilled by the DLC that explores Vaas Insanity which takes players through Vaas’ mindscape through a rogue-lite adventure.

Although some players felt that the story was short, the game provided players with an experience totally unfamiliar from this far Cry game as well as being extremely inventive and creative of the world created by Vaas the game’s mind. The DLC also included cosmetic items that were inspired by FC3 for players, such as the Vaas dress for Dani. For fans of the third installment in the series the DLC is worthy of purchasing.

Far Cry 6 is available for PC devices.

Sora in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate

It might have been difficult for some fans to learn it was the case that Super Smash Bros. Ultimate’s Fighter Pass DLC would come to the end in 2021, however, the character that was the one who would send away from the games was a thrilling revelation for the players. In spite of the fact that many Smash fans believed it would be difficult to add, Sora entered the roster as the final DLC character that had details and many Easter eggs to Kingdom Hearts fans to delight in.

Sora had costumes that reflected his various appearances in distinct KH games, like the Kingdom Hearts 3 costume. There were also costumes for the different forms that he’d gone through including His Timeless River form. The DLC also featured an incrediblely intricate Hollow Bastion stage, and the entire Sora’s family as various spirits. While Disney references were not included due to legal reasons, most players believe that Sora getting added to Smash was among the most powerful fighters they could have kept for in the past.

Final Fantasy 7 Remake: Intermission

The DLC that arrived with the game’s PS5 upgrade serves as a great taste of what’s to come, while fans still get a lengthy time to look for the second installment of Final Fantasy 7 Remake. Yuffie’s own personal DLC puts context to her intro in the original game, while tying the story to a title many people didn’t expected to hear tie into a remake so soon, Final Fantasy 7: Dirge of Cerberus.

Despite the fact that the game is only two chapters long, many fans celebrated how it fleshed out the world of Gaia beyond just Midgar, as well as how it brought the well-known Midgar and Wutai war to a modern audience with ease. While other RPG DLCs may be more ambitious in their executions, what Intermission puts up for the next title is something fans should not skip out on.

Marvel’s Avengers: War for Wakanda

Despite how well a game does on launch, Marvel’s War for Wakanda DLC is proof that players who stay loyal to the title may be rewarded with great DLC that heightens the experience far more than imagined at first glance. This special experience provides players with a glimpse into what happened to Black Panther as a result of the A-Day crisis, placing players in King T’Challa’s shoes and leading fans through the Wakandan Jungle.

With his shockwave and ability-boosting capabilities, Black Panther’s way of acting as a playable hero makes knocking down enemies much more rewarding, and can be enhanced for even more power throughout the campaign. The expansion DLC also includes new enemies to challenge even the most dedicated fans, who have already beaten the game over and over again, bringing many players happy to participate.

Destiny 2 30th Anniversary DLC

Bungie saw just how to be all out for its own as the company grew 30 years old, despite all of the anniversaries that fell in the video game industry this year. The Destiny 2 30th Anniversary Pack was released as a big celebration of all things Bungie from Halo, Myth, and more. For obvious reasons, some subtle nods need to be more subtle, but the DLC adds enough interesting content to Destiny 2’s current meta experience that it changes up. There remains something for each fan to take from their favorite games in the expansion as they bring down the new hilariously-named bosses, no matter which Bungie title players are the most fondest of.

Doom Eternal: the Ancient Gods Part 2

There has a saying that all good things must draw to an end, and Doom Eternal: the Ancient Gods Part 2 functions as the climactic finale to the Doom Slayer’s story, effectively placing an end to the player’s fight against the Dark Lord. The DLC adds the standard Doomfare of unique items and enemies for players to use to try their new weapons, including the powerful Sentinel Hammer. However, the most intriguing part of the DLC to many may be how the war between Heaven and Hell finally falls to an end at the Doom Slayer’s hands. The ending of that id Software made since the series arrived back in 2016 is naturally climactic, and some players may not explain the sharper meanings of Doom Eternal’s ending at first. The final DLC expansion for the title, on the other hand, is a fantastic job at ensuring that plenty of fans are content until the franchise could return.

Animal Crossing: Happy Home Paradise

Like how Super Smash Bros. worked. Ultimate arrived to an end in 2021 with its content updates, as was Animal Crossing: New Horizons, with its 2.0 update released late in the year. Fans, on the other hand, were not left without content to enjoy, as the 2.0 update also included the addition of Happy Home Paradise, Animal Crossing’s first DLC expansion. The game Happy Home Paradise featured clever progression and a new mode to the life simulation title that can almost stand alone as a new game.

The new DLC includes features that have never been shown in Animal Crossing, such as partition walls, lighting control, soundscapes, and more, which provide unique dynamics to how players can create houses across both their vacation homes and their villagers’ homes. Animal Crossing: New Horizons has grown even more incredibly replayable, with an endless amount of options to change up their islands, thanks to these extra features added alongside the 2.0 update.

Final Fantasy 14 Online: Endwalker

The Endwalker expansion is finally in the hands of fans, as one of the most awaited releases of 2021. On top of tons of other fresh content, the critically lauded MMO brings two new classes, Sage and Reaper, as well as male Vieras. The expansion continues the story that many fans have grown attached to, and Endwalker prepares challenging extra dungeons and quests for players who have so far tested their skills.

Because of the expansion hit the game, Endwalker was almost too hyped up, and queueing issues have caused players to be out of the game for hours, all of the sales for FF14 have been halted until traffic dies down. Despite this, the team working on the game has made everything it can to make the experience worth it for those who can enjoy it, including making Endwalker’s dungeons have tons of EXP for simple leveling.

Outer Wilds: Echoes of the Eye

Annapurna Interactive has granted the action-adventure game even more worlds and locations for fans to find, in addition to the massive solar system and forgotten secrets players can explore in Outer Wilds. Echoes of the Eye DLC from Outer Wilds was unveiled in July during Annapurna’s private presentation, and now that it is in the hands of players, many of them have been fun discovering the DLC’s various endings.

Several players praised how Outer Wilds “tends to be a game that allows players to explore without directing them in different directions with different objective pointers, which adds to the expansion’s open-ended nature as it seeks to provide context to previously explored stories. The DLC is compatible with the title’s already established world, so many players aren’t certain how to start Echoes of the Eye right away.

Ghost of Tsushima: Iki Island

The Ghost of Tsushima gains fresh life with the Iki Island expansion, which aims to flesh out the story of Jin Sakai, the samurai many fans have grown to know over the last few years, which was voted the Players’ Choice at the Game Awards in 2020. Players beat up enemies and find haikus in brand unique Ghost of Tsushima locations across a sprawling landscape as fans learn the story of Jin’s past, dealing with his father’s profession and death.

Despite the fact that the original game took plenty of fans’ hearts, having more chances to slash their way through things would give many players happy Iki Island, no matter what the DLC’s flaws were. For many fans, getting more content of Sucker Punch’s handsome open-world adventure to explore is a highlight of 2021, with tons of items and secrets to discover, including PlayStation-inspired easter eggs.
